Save Energy by Cleaning Your Dryer Vents
A clothes dryer cannot work as effectively as possible with a clogged and dirty vent. A clogged dryer vent can interrupt the flow of air through the exhaust system, reducing the efficiency of the appliance. Failing to clean your vents could be a drain on your home’s electrical system. It could also be a significant fire hazard. Do your home a favor by cleaning your dryer vents.
The dryer “vent” does not only refer to the partof the appliance where you can see lint. It also refers to the ductwork in your home. The dryers most prone to dangerous plug-ups are those located in the center of the house, with lengthier duct systems and more opportunities for clogs.
If you notice your dryer taking longer to dry, or strong odors coming from the dryer, they could be signs of a clog. Remove the vent from the back of the dryer and thoroughly clean it to improve efficiency.
