Preparing For Your Inspection

The home inspector you choose to look over a house can give you expert information on what needs to be repaired or updated before you commit to buying. It just makes sense to walk through the house with the inspector when he or she arrives. A walk-through gives you a firsthand look and the opportunity to ask questions.

Before you arrive at the house, gather your supplies. You will need a clipboard, paper and a pen to write down any questions you have and take notes. It’s also a good idea to bring along a tape measure just in case you need it. Bring a camera to take pictures of the house so that you have a visual aid to illustrate what you’re talking about when you ask for repairs. Preparation helps you get the most out of your inspection.
