How to Fix Roof Vents

If you find that your roof vents are damaged, then caulking may help to temporarily solve the issue. However, the only real fix is replacing them. Here are some quick tips to help.

Check the Nails

Sometimes nails are the issue, so be sure to check if some are missing our pulled out. Use rubber-washed screws to replace them.

Pull the Vent Free

If the actual vent is the problem, then before you can work it free, you may need to pull up the nails beneath the shingles.

Add Caulk

Use caulk to create a water barrier and to “glue” the shingles down.
