How to Withdraw an Item from the Toilet

Nearly everyone has experienced the fear of dropping a small object into the toilet or drain. Often, it is a piece of jewelry lost to the pipes. Fortunately, you don’t always have to call a plumber to retrieve it. Take these simple steps:

• Get a wet/dry vacuum
• Remove the filter from the vacuum
• Use a crevice attachment for jewelry
• Direct the hose as far into the drain as you can
• Turn on the vacuum

As the item sucks up into the vacuum, you should be able to feel it. Simply retrieve your item and you’re finished. Not every problem needs a plumber or needs an invasive retrieval.
