How To Show Veterans We Care

American veterans and their families are arguably the bravest people in the country, and they come in a variety of ages and genders. Show your appreciation for their sacrifices this Veterans Day.

Help a Neighbor

Extend a helping hand to a veteran neighbor who might be in need. Perhaps this person has an appointment but no way to get there or needs to have some small repairs done at his or her home. Whatever the case, be a good neighbor and offer to help. If your neighbor is serving in the armed forces, quietly mow their lawn for them or shovel the snow.

Break Bread

Sharing a meal is one of the most ancient forms of hospitality. Deliver a hot meal to a veteran, or invite him or her to come to your house for one. Elderly veterans appreciate the company more than you will ever know.

Show Your Pride

It is never a waste of money to buy an American flag. Hang Old Glory outside your door to show your pride for the red, white and blue.
